ONE MILLION BARRELS
Angola first time produced one million barrels of crude oil in a single day on August 15, 2004, seven days after the start of the production of Hungo in Block 15 (operated by ExxonMobil).
This goal has been achieved as a result of thousands and thousands of small steps over a period of 94 years since 1910, the year when Sinclair Oil became the first company to explore for oil in Angola.
Angola should surpass the one million five hundred thousand barrels per day production target in the third quarter on 2006 thanks to the production contributions from Kissange in Block 15, Dalia in Block 17 and BBLT in Block 14. In the second quarter of 2007 Angola is expected to surpass a daily production level of two million barrels per day when Rosa and Lirio begin producing in Block 17 and Greater Plutonio come on stream in Block 18
